FAQ

How do I calculate the cost of a baked good?

Add up your ingredient costs (pack price ÷ pack size × amount used), your time (minutes × hourly rate) and overhead (gas, electricity, packaging). Divide by how many items the batch makes to get your cost per item.

How should I price my baked goods?

Start from your true cost per item, then add a markup for profit. How much depends on what you make, your city and demand — there's no single right number. This calculator shows the suggested price and your margin instantly.
